“imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…”
not to me…not with my art…I take a lot of pride in what I do as a photographer…so when I see someone copying my style or mimicking my shot selection…it irritates me…
in my area…there are only two dudes known for photography…we have the most experience and our style of shooting has gained us the attention of those in our circle of influence…which is pretty big considering we have 50 thousand plus students at my school…but there are some new comers…who…instead of creating their own style…are simply mimicking what they’ve seen…
I didn’t work that hard to just be copied…
what makes it even worse is the financial aspect of it…they don’t have the experience and skill set to truly charge a lot…so they practically give away their services for free…which makes my prices seem outrageous…
i know in the end quality is what matters the most…but the biting has got to stop…lol…
